Unique Professional Background

Semaj’s journey from Fort Worth to Arlington, and ultimately to earning her law degree from the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law, is a testament to her unwavering commitment and determination. As a first-generation college graduate and Doctor of Jurisprudence, Semaj’s academic achievements underscore her resilience and grit in overcoming obstacles, serving as an inspiration to all.

Her path to success was paved with hard work and dedication, as evidenced by her simultaneous pursuit of a Criminal Justice degree from the University of North Texas in Denton while working full-time for a Fortune 500 Company. Semaj’s passion for Criminal Justice began early in life, as she recognized the systemic barriers and inequalities that could disproportionately affect marginalized communities.

Before founding The Garrett Law Office, Semaj gained valuable experience defending national insurance companies in personal injury disputes and representing large corporations in employment law matters and business disputes. After being trained by one of the best criminal defense attorneys in Dallas and attending the Tim Evans Texas Criminal Trial College, Semaj’s passion for advocating for individuals and small businesses was reignited. The shift aligned more closely with her values and desire to use her legal expertise to help those in her community.
